Substance is a research and technology company specialist in working with the sport; sport for development and outdoor recreation sectors. We design research and consultancy services and technology products which help organisations improve their impact practice in order to:

How customer information is collected and used

General Enquiries

For all general enquires information (name, email and organisation) will be recorded at the initial contact stage and will be used solely for the purposes of communication regarding potential service offers and improvements to services. If you browse our website, we collect anonymous details via cookies, such as the day, time and pages you visit. This helps us to improve the site design and content. If you choose to submit personal details to us such as your email address, via a website form we may add you to our mailing list, initially to respond to your enquiry, and thereafter to keep you informed about our services our monthly email newsletters. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time via the ‘unsubscribe link’.

Research Participation

If you have signed up to take part in one of our studies, we will only collect relevant information to the research at the initial stage of sign up which will solely be used for the purpose of the study.

 

How customer information is shared and stored

General Enquries

Our website has been created using WordPress. If you submit a query via our contact form or if you subscribe to our mailing list, WordPress stores this information for us. These details are only shared with Substance.

Our mailing list is held by Mail Chimp. We use Mail Chimp to create and send monthly email newsletters as well as store contact lists.

Research Participation

If your personal data has been collected for other  business purposes such as research participation, either in person or electronically using one of our online systems, we will only contact you in the future if you have stated at an earlier date that you would like to receive correspondence from us beyond the study that you are participating in. All data that we hold will be kept safe and secure and never sold to other organisations. Data will be deleted once the studies have been completed if you have indicated that you now longer require wish to take part.

Customer privacy rights

In line with the GDPR principles, everyone has the right to request a full report of data held on them by Substance (Data Subject Access request) and subsequently that any personal data held on them by Substance is deleted.
